Team Chats
Corca has two kinds of conversation. A document chat is attached to one document and is where you comment on that work. A team chat is a standalone channel for the whole team, independent of any document. Both live in the sidebar's Chats tab.
Finding your chats
Open the Chats tab at the top of the left sidebar. It lists the team's channels, ordered by latest activity, with the team's members below them. Channels with unread messages show the name in bold and a badge, and the badges update live as messages arrive.
When the sidebar is collapsed to its rail, the Chats icon opens the same list in a popover, badges included.
Creating and managing a channel
Click the new-chat icon in the CHANNELS header to create a channel. You can rename a channel inline by clicking its name, and mark it read from its menu.
Each channel can carry its own icon. Open the channel's icon picker and search the icon set — there are
Mentioning people
Type @ in a chat to mention someone. A picker lists teammates and people the conversation already knows, and Enter inserts a chip that links to their profile. Hovering a chip shows a card with the person's name and avatar.
Mentioning someone who isn't in the team turns the chip grey, and the card explains that they aren't a member and won't be notified. Pressing Invite in that card creates a team invite and opens the Members tab with the invite pending. In a document chat, mentioning someone the document is closed to instead offers to grant them permission.
A mention notifies the person right away, even if they have already read the chat, and the notification opens straight to that message. Editing or deleting the message takes the notification back.
Attachments
You can paste or drag images and files into a chat to send them as attachments.
Notifications
Chat messages and mentions appear in your notifications. Clicking one opens the conversation and highlights the message — including chats that don't belong to a document, and documents you haven't visited before. If you're already in the document, the chat opens in place without reloading.
Opening a chat link from another team you belong to switches to that team automatically.

The AI Helper has its own chat, separate from team channels. See AI Helper.
