Changelog
Week of Sep 21–27
Team chats now have their own Chats tab in the sidebar, alongside a Docs tab, with channels and team members moved into it
Each chat channel can now have its own icon — pick one from a searchable set of
214 icons, and new channels start with a defaultThe Docs tab now opens with a Recent documents card showing your three most recently opened documents, with Show more expanding to ten
The line options menu in the gutter now includes Copy, Cut and Insert Math; Cut is hidden when the document has only one line
Suggestions no longer appear inside a locked block, so a locked expression stays untouched while clipboard and collapse actions keep working
Claude no longer cuts long answers short — code-heavy replies come back in full — and a faster default model makes responses quicker
The AI now notifies you when it finishes an answer rather than when it starts, so the notification arrives with the reply ready
File cards inside narrow table cells now shrink gracefully: the size and extension drop away first, then the name, leaving a centered download button
Sign-in emails now use Corca's own template, and resending a verification link is rate-limited
Importing a PDF now tells you when an upload fails instead of doing nothing, and accepts documents up to
200 pagesFixed the unread message badge showing a stale count
Week of Sep 14–20
Right-clicking a math selection now opens a tidied menu: powers and roots live under Exponent, accents under Hat, spanning decorators under Bar, crossing-out ones under Cancel, and function brackets under Brackets
Start typing with the menu open and a search field filters the actions — "square" finds Square inside the Exponent submenu without opening it, and Backspace brings the whole menu back
Selecting one or more expressions and choosing Make a Graph now appends a graph of them
Right-clicking empty space now offers Insert Math, which drops an empty expression where you clicked with the cursor in it
Selecting a variable or constant now offers Color in the menu, and picking a color updates every occurrence of it
A variable that carries parameters now offers Detach Argument to pull them back out, and a bare variable followed by a group offers Merge as Argument to fold it in
Indexes and labels now sit in their own Labels section, including the corner positions and the Prime, Double Prime, Triple Prime and Dagger symbols, together with the Move to actions
Contents of an exponent can now be moved back down into the expression with Move Down
The math menu now opens with Ctrl
+ Space or Alt+ Space, lists clipboard actions even when they don't apply, and skips disabled rows when you arrow through itYou can now lock an individual block from the line options menu, keeping one paragraph, table or expression fixed while the rest of the document stays editable
Improved math recognition when importing large PDFs and images
Interactive controls in code cell output — sliders, dropdowns and checkboxes — have been removed for now, and those outputs render as plain HTML again
Mobile: team chats are now available in the app
Mobile: modals can be dismissed by dragging them down
Week of Sep 7–13
You can now import PDF files; Corca reads each page, including math that was saved as an image, and turns it into an editable document
Team settings now have an Invite links section, and each click on Create Invite Link makes a new link
Mentioning someone outside the team in a team chat now says they aren't a member and won't be notified; clicking Invite sends them a team invite and opens the Members tab
Right-clicking in a document you can't edit now opens your browser's own menu, so you can still copy text
AI writing into a document is noticeably faster, and if the AI provider fails, Corca retries and shows a failed state instead of hanging
Notification timestamps now keep updating while the notifications panel is open
Improved accessibility: higher-contrast symbols in the symbol palette, screen reader labels on table, code, chart and upload controls, and keyboard access to collapsed sidebar menus
Logging in from a daily challenge page now brings you back to it, and no longer sends you there after an unrelated login
Mobile: tapping a math expression now just places the cursor, and double-tapping selects the variable
Mobile: a notifications button in the document tree opens your notifications, with a badge that updates live
Mobile: new document buttons in root folders, Undo and Redo that grey out when there's nothing to undo, and the About and What Is Corca? pages now open inside the app
Week of Aug 31–Sep 6
You can now type
@in a document or a chat to mention someone; a picker lists teammates and people the document already knows, and Enter inserts a blue chip that links to their profileHovering a mention shows a card with the person's name and avatar; if they can't open the document the chip turns grey and offers a one-click Invite
Mentioning someone in a chat comment now notifies them right away — even if they have already read that chat — and the notification opens straight to that message; editing or deleting the comment takes the notification back
Selected text can now be linked to a math variable from the right-click menu: the phrase takes on the variable's color, and hovering or clicking either one highlights the other
The right-click menu now has a Change Notation submenu that previews other ways to write the selected expression and swaps it in when you pick one
Simplify, Expand, Factor and the other symbolic actions now live in their own right-click submenu
Hints for expressions like
sin^2(y)-cos^2(y) now read-cos(2*y) instead of-cos(2,y) A selected image can now be wrapped in a callout block from the IMAGE panel, with a color picker for the callout background
Duplicating a document from the sidebar now names the copy
Document title [Your Name copy]so copies stay attributable; Cmd+ Z restores the original titleTeam invites now accept several addresses at once — paste a comma-, semicolon- or newline-separated list and send them all with one "Invite all" click
You can now upload
.md,.texand.txtfiles to the AI chat; the AI reads them as text and can import LaTeX as formatted mathRecognizing text from an image now works on a document you left open for a while, without a page refresh
The notifications panel has new spacing, badges and typography, friendlier timestamps ("
5 min ago", "Yesterday"), and sender avatars that link to the senderMobile: opening a
corca.app/doc/…link now opens the app directly to that documentMobile: documents open much faster — the app keeps a warm editor ready in the background instead of loading from scratch each time, and swipe-back returns to the previous document
Week of Aug 24–30
Selecting text and choosing Ask AI now sends those lines to the AI, which rewrites them in place or answers in chat without changing the document
The Ask AI box now offers a few ready-made questions and edits about the text you selected
The right-click menu now includes a text color picker, and Hide Block / Show Block for collapsible blocks
Team chats are now listed separately from documents in the sidebar, ordered by latest activity, with an unread dot on the Chats header
Opening a chat link from another team you belong to now switches to that team automatically
Notifications now open the right place: comment links into documents you haven't visited, chat messages that don't belong to a document, and team invites that land on the team
Chat notifications without a document now read "sent a message in chat" instead of naming an untitled document
You can now add and verify extra email addresses in Account settings, by code or by a one-click link from the verification mail
Signing in with an address already attached to another account now says so on the login page instead of leaving you stuck
Mobile: the document tree and the unread counters for team and AI chat now update live
Mobile: code cells can now be run from buttons in the editor toolbar
Week of Aug 17–23
The left sidebar now groups documents under a collapsible Docs section that fits the window height, with a More
… button for the restNew documents and folders can now be created from a menu in the Docs section title, and appear in the tree immediately
Teams now show their members as avatars in the sidebar, with an Invite button and a
+ N overflowTeam chats now have their own pages — create one from the Chats section, rename it inline, or mark it read from its
⋯ menu, with unread badges updating liveComment and shared-document notifications are now clickable: clicking one opens the document, opens the chat, and highlights the message
Clicking a notification for the document you're already in now opens the chat in place, without reloading
Shared-document notifications now have an Open Document button, and Accept and Decline resolve without navigating away
