The Right-Click Menu
Right-click a selection in a document — or press Ctrl
Inside a math expression the menu also opens with Alt
Filtering the actions
With the menu open, start typing. A search field appears and the list narrows to the rows that match. Matching looks at the text on each row plus a few synonyms, and it reaches inside submenus — typing square finds Square within the Exponent submenu without opening it. If nothing matches, the menu reads "No matching actions". Backspace brings the whole menu back.
Text
With prose selected, the menu includes:
Text color— a color picker for the selected text.Hide Block / Show Block— collapse a block behind a toggle, or reveal a hidden one.
Link to variable
With prose selected in a document that defines math variables, the menu offers Link to variable. Its submenu previews each defined variable in its own color; pick one to tie the selected phrase to that variable. If the selection is already linked, the menu shows Remove variable link instead. See Writing and Editing Math for how linked phrases behave.
Math
With a math expression selected, the symbolic actions are grouped into submenus:
Simplifyopens a submenu with Simplify, Expand, Factor, and the other transformations. Choosing one replaces the selection with the result.Change Notationopens a submenu of other ways to write the same expression. Each entry is a live preview; choosing one swaps the selection for that notation.
Alongside Simplify and Change Notation, a math selection now groups its actions into submenus:
Exponent
→ Powers and rootsHat
→ Accents for a single node, including VectorBar
→ Decorators that span the selection — overline, underline, widehat, widetilde, overbrace, underbrace and the dot familyCancel
→ Decorators that mark the selection — cancel, bcancel, xcancel and boxedBrackets
→ For a function: bracket visibility (Auto, Enable Brackets, Disable Brackets) and the bracket styles — parentheses, square brackets, braces and angle bracketsLabels
→ Index and Label, the corner positions (Left Index, Left Label), the label symbols (Prime, Double Prime, Triple Prime, Dagger), and the Move to actions
Changing the shape of an expression
Some actions restructure the selection rather than decorate it.
Detach Argument
→ Pulls a variable's parameters out into a plain group beside it, soƒ(x) becomesƒ*x Merge as Argument
→ Folds a following group into the variable, sox⋅(y+z) becomesx*(y+z) Move Down
→ Lifts the contents of an exponent out in front of it, sox^(y+z) withy+z selected becomesx*y+z Move to Exponent / Index / Label
→ Moves the selection into that position
Color
Selecting a single variable or constant offers a Color row. It opens the same palette as the right sidebar, and the color applies to every occurrence of that variable or constant in the document.
Inserting
With one or more expressions selected, Make a Graph appends a graph of them — the same block the graph preview in the right sidebar inserts.
Right-clicking empty space with nothing selected offers Insert Math, which drops an empty expression where you clicked with the cursor inside it.
Ask AI
Ask AI sits at the bottom of the menu. It opens a prompt box next to the selection with a few suggested questions and edits, or type your own. "Make this shorter" rewrites the selected lines in place; "what does this mean?" is answered in chat and leaves the document untouched. See AI Helper.
Actions that aren't available
Clipboard actions are always listed and greyed out when they don't apply to the current selection. Arrowing through the menu skips disabled rows and Enter ignores them, so you can't land on an action that does nothing.
Some actions are hidden rather than disabled. The convert-to-variable actions don't appear in a document title or a heading, and no suggestions appear inside a locked block — see Teams and Collaboration for locking.
Read-only and locked documents
The Corca menu only opens in documents you can edit. In a document you can only view, or one that's locked, right-clicking opens your browser's own menu instead. You can still use Copy there, and pasting into a document you can edit keeps the content intact. Right-clicking a math expression in a read-only document doesn't open a menu.
